I am a native of Chilton County, Alabama and live in the country far from the big cities. My channel is a mixture of videos from my hobbies about the things that I build, the tools I use and various activities around my house. I enjoy the process of taking discarded or unwanted logs and turning them into projects. I have had a love of woodworking since I was a kid. I have unlocked my creative side since purchasing my own sawmill and learning how to make projects from scratch. I enjoy helping others and sharing my knowledge with those with similar interests.
Since the creation of my channel, it has grown and I am thankful for that growth. I have signed up for affiliate programs with some online shops including Amazon, XTool and any other products that I link directly in my videos. If you purchase using these links, I will receive a commission from the sale. I remain unbiased and honest in my assessments as always.

While testing the WeCreat 40 watt, I determined that it works fairly well with lightburn. My biggest complaint was the lack of a lightburn camera. I made myself a camera mount and now have a working lightburn camera. For templates that I have made, check out my Etsy shop. Also, also. If a customer says they'll come back, offer to hold their purchase or ship it later. Small items are super cheap to mail. Just build in shipping costs (also build in booth costs).
Totally agree! But I tend to make my own blanks to differentiate my products. OR I modify purchased blanks (e.g. I add 1/4" magnets to one side of the bottle openers for value added).
Sure enjoy all the great information you share. I have a 40W unit on order and even though I won't be using Lightburn right away it is great to know this ahead of time. Thank you again.
Hey there. Good info there. I just got the ATEZR L2 36 Watt and working through some issues with it. Have you ever run into a issue with the autofocus where it has to be run twice to correctly autofocus? If so, how did you get this fixed? Earned a new subscriber too. Do you ever do any videos with your ATEZR?
Sounds like the module may need adjusting. Make sure the machine can reach the material within the max travel. The Atezrs were a little picky about the way you set the focus. I only had the L24 and stopped using it after getting the A30. I ran my V35 until getting the Atomstack X40. I am now running the A70 pro as my smaller machine
Can you share a link for the generator you mentioned ?
amzn.to/3xyr1V4
Do you have a favorite source for your 4.5mm blank stock?
My local Russel Do It center
Did you happen to actually measure the box dimensions in Wecreat vs Lightburn ? Asking, as when I draw let’s say a 2 inch square….and engrave in Wecreat…it is exactly 2”…. but when I do the same in Lightburn… it is not 2” square…. more like 1.8 x 2.1 . I am assuming this is a Lightburn issue ?
I haven't tested it. I will have to check. Sounds like the steps might need adjusting.
Hey Dave, just had a quick question in regards to this topic. We bought an S1 from xTools and its riser base component. Smoke seems to be escaping from somewhere in the chamber, can’t pinpoint it though. I ordered a 4” inline fan and the 3D printed adapter for 4” duct hose. Any thoughts on all of that? I’m hoping I don’t have a pile of returns on my hands…thank you!
Depending on the length of hose, probably not enough air flow through the exhaust. I would add some power for sure. The factory fan is a little smaller than I would like, if running it a long way, not enough. I think xtool was expecting short exhaust runs or using their filter.
@@TheClackShack that’s my hope, we’ve got it on a work bench probably 4-4.5ft off the ground and then a window above around ~8ft on the wall. I assume with the additional power and some tape on all the hose, that should help. Maybe cracking the door to the riser base would help get some negative pressure?
@@DoSomethingProductive the riser should naturally allow enough if it’s like mine
@@TheClackShack I’ll give it a shot and report back. We have the one for the conveyer feeder attachment. Thank you again!
I love my F1. I bought a 3d printer to make jigs for the ra2 to hold yeti and different stanley perfectly level.
Cool. 3D printing is handy
Those faux leather keychains are pretty decent sellers
Seem to be
Do you sell the file for the jig?
No, hangers vary in size and shape. I sell systems for multiple machines and it isn’t hard to make the item file.
i have Z1 and wanted the 20 watt. This helps my decision. Will get it and do the things you showed. I do not need workspace more than 200x 200 so this will work out well for me
Good deal
Gadsden flag is a nice touch. I'll subscribe :-)
Thanks.. they are everywhere
Looks great!
Thanks
Great video. When you use this laser at shows, is there an issue for ventilation? I only have a diode laser and feel it would be impossible for the majority of events..thanks..always enjoy your info and videos
I only do outdoor events and use an air filter for cutting wood.
I'm Curious if the IR/Fiber will engrave/mark cast iron?
It should..
I've seen it advertised that it can make 3D embossings. I'd love to see how realistic it actually is to do a job like that
Trying it out. We will see..
I'm surprised Steve didn't already sticker a cell on the wall. lol
He did, I took down the sticker.. lol
With the 1064 Fiber will it cut clear acrylic?
No, that is a job for a CO2
awesome video
Thanks!
Sorry for missing the live but as your birthday was the 22 of June mine was the 23rd lol but I'm a bit older then you for I turned 63
Happy birthday, I have a few to go to catch up
Great song selection. Can't help but want a second round of this short 😂. Great wall BTW
Thanks
You said $4K machine and I said I’m out! LoL
They aren't cheap
I bought your file on etsy. Made some tweaks. Deff added names up top to read quicker. I also added the focus for the material per jig next to the name. so i can just type it in when im using different jigs. No need to refocus the laser
Sounds great!
Thanks everyone, it was great being invited! Hope you found a nugget of help tonight.
Thanks for dropping by...
Sorry i missed the live, but my kids bought me a cake for my bday today and made me dinner. I also wanted to wish you a belated happy birthday. Wish i turned 40 😅😅😅 Still gonna watch the replay
Thanks..
Why do you have jigs for everything if it has a camera? (Sorry if stupid question but I am new to all this!)
Cameras are not 100% accurate and I am OCD. Also, when batching, placing items is much faster.
Do you need a computer at all (set-up) or can you run everything from wifi?
Must set up the wifi using usb.
@@TheClackShack So you only need a computer for installation? Thanks.
@@jf6720 You have to connect with USB to set up the wifi. You can use a PC or possibly the app to run it over the wifi.
TOO long
That is a matter of perspective...
Wasnt expecting house of pain on a sunday afternoon😂
LOL... I like to mix it up
Now I am sure you were dancing and jumping around with that playing in the Shack! Greg
The spring you are using on the enclosure where did you get it from and can you share the link? Thank You
Tractor supply... In person
@@TheClackShack how long, thickness, etc, please?
@@mikeledee8786 about 8 inches long and 3/4 inch round. The weight is what matters. If I didn't include it on my original build video, I forgot.
@@TheClackShack Thanks very much
Thanks Dave, been looking at this machine and cant wait for more info as i belive this is gonna be my next work horse
Cool
These videos don't get old if you're in the market to buy.
Thanks, Glad you like it.
Don't cut them out! Just mark them and you will not need a spacer!
But then the cards will move from the air assist and ruin my stock. The recess serves a purpose, also makes loading faster.
I can run either from my EV but, like you, intend taking the F1 to shows and leave the ultra at home.
Yea, it is a bit more than I want to be moving around.
I’ve been waiting for your take on the F1 Ultra. The only opinion that matters. 😉I have the F1 but I’m waiting for the ultra to arrive.
Thanks.. So far, it has its place.
Great informal video! I was looking forward to it. The Ultra seems like a great machine with a lot of added great capabilities. My only concern is the build structure of the machine as I am OCD about this kinda thing 😅
The base is all metal and so far, pretty sturdy. They did away with the removable floor plate, likely to add rigidity.
Notice you have feet on your covers now. Are they the rubber/silicone feet or block of wood just to keep item elevated?
The felt 1 inch pads that are made for furniture. These are what I am using, tried several brands but these stick better. amzn.to/4bfMG1W
@@TheClackShack thanks that should be cool, no scratching...
How would you adjust it if the auto measure doesn't show zero with no material on the bed? Mine keeps coming up 0.4.
Run the calibration on the "fiber IR and blue light laser calibration" it may be because they need an offset to correctly calculate. You will need one of the small scrap papers or similar.
Ya, I already tried that. Didn’t resolve the problem. 🤷♀️
@@Sekhmet131 not sure. I didn’t have that issue. This is all I found about it. Make sure to shut the cover, I have seen some variations with too much light support.xtool.com/article/1312?from=xTool+F1+Ultra&url=/product/33
I have learned over the years of using both mineral spirits and acetone that as soon as you pour a little out onto your rag or towel put the cap back on immediately, parts of it will evaporate and will be a lot less effective in the given use. I always use gloves with this stuff and recommend anyone do the same. thanks for the great video i learned a lot
Thanks
I'd like to find out or see if anyone use acrylic on it?
Maybe soon
Love your content...watching video headed to craft event in Vincent, al...looking at getting f1 ultra soon
Thanks, maybe you will sell out or get lots of orders.. Good luck
Thank you for this video. Also of good information. I will be watching it again at some point before get mine. I like the WiFi feature to send files to it. Have you noticed any additional odors than the F1? Thank you for going through the calibration process. Thank for doing this! I would love to see the embossing.
My exhaust setup has a 4 inch assist fan near the exit, it doesn’t allow any smoke to escape
Excellent! I recently bought the F1 and I was experimenting - I had since convinced myself (because I am interested in making jewellery) that I would need to step up to the Ultra. However, although the Ultra is a capable machine, I think a 100 watt Mopa would suit me better. I more want to experiment than just grab a blank and engrave it, to see what I can do, so it would be a mistake to set my sights on the Ultra. I love my F1 and have a ton of uses for it, and love the portability for events and such, but the Ultra clearly isn't the upgrade I need. I didn't even know what Mopa is so thanks for highlighting that I can spend less and get much more machine, for what I plan to do. Helpful details here in this video.
Jewelry can be done with the 20 watt fiber. I have done gold lockets with my other machine.
@@TheClackShack I wasn't expecting the type of machine and power I will want/need to cost less that ten grand (because I wasn't sure what to search for) but after looking at several 100 watt Mopa units for under £5K, since seeing your video, I know where to set my budget. Maybe 20 watt will cover many bases, but 100 watt will cover ALL of mine. I was assuming that I could only ever cover some of them without huge expense! More research to do, of course.
This is helpful Clack! Thank you. One question…I see your smoke outlet tubing from the Lasermatik and the F1 in the background but wonder where they ultimately connect to? I think that area in your shack is a fair distance from outside so I don’t think you’re venting it outside. Would you mind showing us your smoke extraction set up for those? Thank you in advance sir!!!
The hose that runs over my shoulder goes out the back. I have a 4 inch assist fan right near the exit. You can see the hose when I am at the PC, I also used it for testing the F1 ultra.
Excellent! Thank you again!
